Brown and white cotton homespun dress has blue trim and blue fabric covered buttons. Comment: Made by Lena Dancy Ledbetter (1850-19--) when she was 14. Ledbetter carded the cotton, spun the thread, wove and made the dress. Cloth was woven black and white check (faded to golden tan by 1931.) Ledbetter, an upper-class Southerner on a plantation, made the dress by herself to show solidarity with the Confederate cause.
