"A hand hewn board hauled in 1870 from the Bastrop Pine forest in an Ox cart by Reuben Addison Hornsby, older son of Josephus when RA was 17 yrs old and Jesse the younger was 8 who lived [illegible] til he was 71 at this place in Hornsby [Bend/Pond?]. Now owned by his daughter. This board found in [1855 or 1955?] in [illegible] [illegible] first Hornsby house of Hornsby [Bend/Pond?] presented to State Museum [illegible] from (Mrs. J. C. ) of Ft Worth and Hornsby Bend."
