Very small wooden pulley is nothing but the curved joint of a tree that was carved. "L" shaped pulley has natural curve from tree and has notches carved out of the ends. Notches have dark discoloration, possibly from having rope constantly dragged across it. Pulley was supposedly used to draw a bucket out of a shallow dig well.
