Seven men are seated on or near, or are standing behind a tree trunk that is on the ground; two hold crosscut saws. Four are in shirtsleeves, two wear vests, and one wears a jacket. One man holds a notebook and pencil. In the background are additional trees. A card photograph. Title from inscription on back, also the following list: "W. R. Andrews, L. Abell, G. Hawley, Cyrus Abell, J. B. Hine, Dr. F. H. Andrews, Andrews Inspector. " William R. Andrews is the father of the donor.
