Studio group portrait of a baseball team, with nine young men standing, three young men sitting in front of a low stone wall, and a boy lying in front on a white fur rug. Most of the young men wear a baseball uniform, with quilted padding on their knee-length pants, short sleeve shirts with the initials S E C 96 sewn to the fronts over long sleeve knit shirts, some turtlenecks, wide belts, and small caps. Two have nosegays pinned to their shirts. One wears a glove; three bats, a glove and a face mask lie on the ground. One young man wears a suit, another a coat and trousers with two stripes down the side. The little boy wears a double-breasted coat. Title from note on back of photograph includes list of the players, their positions, and home towns. Per correspondence with librarian of St. Edward's University Sept. 15, 2014, several of the players whose names are inscribed on the back were students of St. Edward's College in 1896.
